What does “Libertas Animatum” Mean?
Before toons can self-govern, before we can even begin to argue about what sort of structure toon society should take (though most of us here lean socialist), toons first must be considered equal to our human counterparts. Currently, at least in American society, we are treated much more like property, a fact that is more apparent the more time you spend interacting with humans. No real progress can be made in toon society until this weight is lifted.
Our Story
We officially started as a group in 2010, as small mutual aid network in Quilldaro. Just a group of former MMORPG toons that had been let go from their former positions, looking for company and support. It turns out that we weren’t the only ones in need of support, so we started the Quilldaro Mutual Aid Network.
However, there’s only so many toons a single group can support. Some people in the group thought it would be best to tackle the issue from its root – to take aim at the system itself. So we got to work, creating the group that would become Toons Against TV.
Why Join?
TO Support Your Community
We work with various mutual aid networks around the city to help keep toons within and outside of our group fed, safe, healthy, and happy. Most of us have volunteered our time at one point or another to give back to those who helped us!
To Spread Awareness
We keep everyone informed about the happenings of our city from an unbiased, non-corporatist, lens. There’s no point in joining the fight if you don’t know why your fighting.
To Take Action
Even our busiest members take time out of their weeks to show up at demonstrations. Demonstrations are our way of showing both the public, government officials, and corporations that we won’t back down!
